The Ryebeck COVID-19 Response

As always the welfare and safety of our team, our guests and our local community remains our highest priority and we are closely following advice of Public Health England and the government advice.Over the past few weeks, we have been working hard and introducing extra health and safety measures to ensure our main focus of safety & well-being is kept sharp, and as up to date as possible.Please see below some useful information for our guests in regards to our proposed course of action moving forward.

COVID-19 Precautions

Please adhere to a safe social distance of 2 metres from your fellow guests and our staff. We appreciate this may require a bit of a dance at times but we believe it is far better to be ‘safe than sorry!’

Please do not be offended should one of our team remind you of social distancing. We are doing our best to make sure everybody, all our guests and staff, feels comfortable and safe at The Ryebeck.

We kindly ask you to please wear your face masks in all common areas of our hotel. Should you join us for some food and drink, please only remove your mask once sat at a table in either our Bar, Restaurant or Lounge.

We are extensively cleaning all Common Areas and Public Toilets however we are also asking guests to please make use of bathroom facilities in their room to reduce any further spread of the virus.

Disinfectant dispensers will be placed on entrance to the property and outside toilet areas.

One Way System

During our busiest times, we will be operating a One Way System in our Bar and Restaurant. To dine in our restaurant, please enter through our Bar and feel free to browse our selection of drinks. When leaving, please leave all the way through our restaurant and down the long corridor which will bring you back round to reception.

We also ask you to make use of our spacious Lounge, Snug and Terrace as alternative seating arrangements. All drink and food orders are table service and will be brought through to you so please feel free to sit back, relax and we’ll be with you shortly!


Breakfast is served in our Restaurant between 8am-10am. Unfortunately, we are no longer serving our continental buffet as all our delicious breakfast orders are freshly made to order – our restaurant team will take your order each morning. We are doing our utmost to adhere to guidelines so please be patient with us if we are taking slightly longer than usual.

Should you wish to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in your room, speak to one of our team and we’d be happy to pre-arrange room service free of charge.

Please note take-away food is not permitted in our rooms.

All common areas, including our Bar, will close at 10pm according to official guidelines. Feel free to take any drinks up to your room past this point.

Please note we have limited seating in our Lounge for breakfast which operates on a first-come first-serve basis for those who have brought their dogs with them. We advise you head down for breakfast earlier should you like one of these tables.


Please use your Do Not Disturb/ Please Clean sign to ensure your room is cleaned during your stay. To ensure the safety of our Housekeeping Team as well as yours, we will not enter your room for cleaning unless specifically asked to by placing the ‘please clean’ sign on your doorknob.

If you could do this before you head down to breakfast, it would be much appreciated.

Ozone Cleaning will apply.


May we remind guests to vacate rooms by 10.30am on the morning of departure. We will bring your final bill to your room for you to browse. Please come down to reception to settle this with one of our friendly reception team. This is to be limited to 1 person to avoid congestion. Please leave your keys in the basket placed on reception.

Extensive Training Programme

Training by independent auditors: All staff will go through new training at the hotel, with new guidelines, training material and Health & safety amendments issued and training sessions applied before the commencement of work.

Track & Trace

We recommend to download the NHS Track & Trace App before your arrival as this is used throughout the majority of establishments in the local area. During your stay, we will kindly ask you to scan our QR code and ‘check-in’ to our venue each day of your stay. Should you have any problems with this, please ask our friendly reception team for guidance.

We will also be asking our guests on a confidential basis to inform us if they develop any symptoms within 7 days of leaving The Ryebeck which will enable us to inform Team Members & Guests whom may have been in contact.

As stated previously we are adhering to the government guidelines closely and we will amend any processes when advised to do so. We hope these measures put in place will give our guests reassurance that we are doing everything and more to protect us all.
